Hearing Aid Fitting
Hearing aids are not one size fits all solutions. At our practice, we work with you to make sure your hearing aids are as comfortable and as natural sounding as possible. Our greatest compliment is when patients tell us they forget they’re wearing hearing aids until their head hits the pillow.
During the fitting process, we work with you to find the right fit and the right settings to help you reach your maximum hearing potential. In the office we program your hearing aids to be as comfortable as possible. It helps to bring your spouse, friend or neighbor to practice hearing with a familiar voice. It also helps to have an extra set of ears to listen to instructions on maximizing your hearing potential.
Once you’re satisfied with how you’re hearing, we let you go home and wear them in your own environment. When you return for the next follow up appointment, we use your personal feedback to make adjustments if necessary. The fitting process typically takes 3 visits.
While adjusting to your hearing aids, we take various measurements to determine your hearing levels and your ability to understand words. Once we counsel you on how to operate your hearing aids and instruct you on battery use, you should wear your new hearing aids every day in your normal environment.
